Meet The Vesper StafF
BRYANT LEMIRE, CCM
General Manager/ COO

Bryant is a native of southern New Hampshire and a graduate of Bishop Guertin High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Hospitality Management. He has furthered his professional development through continuing education through the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) and has earned his Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation as well as inducted into CMAA’s prestigious Honor Society. Bryant has worked in the club industry for the past 24 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him. He has held leadership roles at many well-known local top-tier clubs including Charles River Country Club, the LANAM Club, Essex County Club, Granite Links Golf Club, Brae Burn Country Club, and the Union Club of Boston. Bryant played an extensive role in the planning and execution of the 2010 USGA Curtis Cup held at Essex County Club as well as involvement in other local and regional golf events throughout his career. Prior to working in clubs, Bryant spent time in the hotel industry leading operations at four-star properties for Marriott and Hyatt. Here he had the opportunity to managed private events for the Super Bowl XXXII championship team and former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. Bryant currently resides in Braintree with his wife Kelly and two teenage children Angelina and Marcus and their dog Max.
PHIL DEVLIN

Phil started his career at Essex County Club where he worked his way up to the Executive Chef position while earning a culinary degree. He has studied at the Culinary Institute of America taking several courses focusing on international cuisine.After Essex, Phil worked for the MIT Faculty Club and Boston University. He returned to private clubs as Executive Chef and General Manager of Boston Yacht Club. Most recently he served as General Manager of Black Swan CC and opened several restaurants for investors. Phil resides in Epping, NH with his wife Tara.
MICHAEL DALTON

Michael started in the industry summer of 2007 as summer labor help at Wannamoisett CC in Rumford, RI. While at Wannamoisett, we renovated Bunkers and installed a new irrigation system under the direction of Ron Forse’s Master Plan. In 2010, he worked under legendary superintendent Russ Myers at The Los Angeles Country Club, where he took part in Gil Hanse’s 20 million dollar North Course Renovation. In 2012 he returned to Wannamoisett as an assistant after a winter at Card Sound Golf Club. He became Wannamoisett’s Senior Assistant in 2015, which continued until 2020. Fall of 2020 he was offered an opportunity to be the tournament organizer for the 2021 ANWA (Augusta National Women’s Amateur) hosted between Champion’s Retreat and Augusta National. Following the tournament he lead a greens transition from Bentgrass to Bermuda. Fall of 2021 he returned to Wannamoisett for the start of Andrew Green’s renovation. On October 22nd, 2021 he was introduced as the new superintendent of Fall River Country Club.
KIM DEANS

Kim Deans comes to Vesper with thirty years of experience in the Golf/Country Club industry. She began her career as the Controller at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, Connecticut. In 2000, she relocated to the Boston area and became the Controller at Brae Burn Country Club in Newton, Massachusetts. Throughout her career, Kim had been very active in the Club Controller’s professional organization (HFTP), where she served as a board member for many years. She has fostered many professional relationships throughout the New England area. Most recently, Kim was the Controller at Weston Golf Club in Weston, Massachusetts. She lives in Marlborough with her two sons, Samuel and Zachary.
JAMES SCALES

James Scales comes to Vesper Country Club from Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, Connecticut. James was born and raised on the west coast of Ireland. He started playing golf at an early age at Lahinch Golf Club. James went to school in England and received a Bachelor Degree in Golf Management from Myerscough College. His first job in the golf industry was at Victoria National in Newburgh, Indiana. Since leaving Victoria National, he has gained experience working at private clubs in South Carolina and Connecticut, as well as a return to Victoria National for a second spell. James joins the Vesper team after most recently spending three years at Wee Burn as the Senior Assistant. Wee Burn Head Professional, Sam Wiley, has an outstanding reputation preparing assistants in their professional career. James and his wife Alexis will be joining the Vesper family in 2022.
